Learning Cafe

January 10, 2025, 11 am-12 noon at Oak Park Church

"Setting Intentions for Positive Aging"

Taking care of our physical, mental, and cognitive health is important for positive ageing. Even making small changes in our daily life can help.

SW55+Connect Learning Cafes focus on fostering positive ageing strategies. To kick off the 2025 new year, we will focus on identifying one intention you would like to set in your life and explore strategies for achieving that change.

The Learning Cafe on January 10th will be a facilitated participatory session with discussions and will include the telling of a personal story of change. Storytelling is a potent tool to create emotional connections, raise awareness, inspire action, and storytellers have the ability to shape hearts, minds, and behaviors.

This month, Deb Baranec is our guest storyteller who will share her personal story of a major personal change related to obesity and osteoarthritis. Deb will highlight the importance of setting intentions, self-advocacy, resilience, action, and having a support system that provides consistent encouragement and motivation.

Setting intentions can be what’s needed to create a life you truly love. Join us for this inspirational and practical learning event!
