Details can be found on their website. Please contact Elaine at 2eavsmith@gmail.com regarding any questions

MEMBER PHONE SURVEY COMPLETED – 85% RESPONSE! We asked and you told us! 85% of members responded to our phone survey - thanks to 15 willing phone volunteers.  What did we find?

  • Most of you read our Eblasts and many read our Facebook posts

  • Some need digital equipment or technical help and some need household help, especially in Covid-19 quarantine

  • And fortunately some members are willing to help others.

  • Generally we are all keeping safe and well and occupied, learning to do day-to-day activities differently now

OAKRIDGE RESIDENTS POSTCARD DROP and POSTERS We sent our information to 2,500 Oakridge households and will be compiling results in the next few weeks, and finding solutions to staying connected, safe and secure in your homes. We’re also placing posters around the community to bring awareness to all that OSA has to offer.

Zoom

  • Constant improvements have made it safer and more user friendly

  • Zoom is a perfect and safe place for us to meet on line for meetings (men’s coffee, ladies chat/movie club) classes (Tai chi) and presentations

  • Only the meeting host can let people enter the group on line

  • We continue to help members become comfortable using Zoom, with links to one-on-one training or coaching

COMPUTER / IT ACCESS

  • Having trouble accessing us online? We have funds and will soon have wifi-ready equipment for member use. Let us know if you need help with this. Not just to participate with us but to access online shopping, banking, keeping up personal contacts etc. through an internet connection.

  • One-on-one help is also available to seniors through CyberSeniors.org. Many members report excellent experiences with this group.

HOUSEHOLD HELP – VETTED CONTRACTORS LIST

  • Del Kobleski and Steve MacInnis are compiling a list of vetted contractors to help you with household chores.

  • Contact Del to ask about recommendations of skilled, qualified and member-endorsed contractors to help you at dpkobe@shaw.ca
