Her death is a huge loss for all who knew and loved her, and for SW 55+ Connect as an organization.
With Sheila’s death, the SW55+ Connect Board of Directors (Julie, Sonja, Debra, Ted and Cheryl) had a moment when we contemplated quitting and dissolving the organization. After getting together to raise a glass to Sheila and reminiscing about all the great things we have offered older adults in SW Calgary over the last 5 years, we knew Sheila would want us to continue! So, we recommitted to our mission. BUT, we need volunteers to serve as event hosts and/or as Directors.

SW55+ Connect membership is a registered non-profit organization that generates revenue through its membership fee of $20 to cover our annual expenses for insurance, website, post office box, Meetup subscription, and operations which are about $3,000 per year. Please support us. We are the only senior’s serving organization south of Glenmore Trail and West of MacLeod Trail. We use Meetup for marketing and event registration. Monday Coffee and Canasta at Cedarbrae, while started by us, are now programs of Cedarbrae Community League Association.
